Ability to connect to multiple devices at the same time is added to WhatsApp
The feature that many WhatsApp users have been waiting for is finally being added to these messengers. Facebook today unveiled a limited beta version of the ability to use a WhatsApp account on multiple devices without the need for a phone. To access this feature, users must use the latest beta version of WhatsApp on Android or iOS.
It seems that this beta version is currently only available in a few countries and Facebook has not published a list of these countries. Therefore, many users do not yet have access to this feature. In the past, if users wanted to use WhatsApp on a device other than their phone, they first had to connect their smartphone to the Internet because WhatsApp information was sent and received through the phone on another device. Now with this feature, users can use their account without using the phone on four different devices (other than other smartphones).
However, it is not yet possible to use this feature on other smartphones. Each device is supposed to connect individually to your WhatsApp account and secure your account using Global Encryption (E2EE). Global encryption will also be used when synchronizing information such as contact names, archivists, starred messages, and more.
