Android 12 beta 3 released; Take a look at the new features


Google is releasing the latest beta version of Android 12 exactly according to the plan. This beta, the third installment of Google Scheduled versions, adds new features to the user interface, including scrollable screenshots, default public app search, auto-rotation improvements, and more.

According to Google, this version of Android 12 includes the official APIs and SDK of this operating system. Therefore, in the upcoming betas, a significant and large feature will not be available to users. It can also be seen that Android 12 is still scheduled for release this fall, as previously announced.

Undoubtedly, the most important feature of the third beta of Android 12 is its better and faster automatic rotation. Google now uses the front camera and face recognition feature to understand the position of the device and how to hold it in the hand. This performance was previously only evaluated by the phone’s accelerometer.

Dave Brook, Chief Executive Officer of Android Operating System Engineering, made the following statement:

This feature is especially suitable for users who use their smartphone while lying on a sofa or bed.

Brooke went on to explain that face recognition in Android 12 is done locally in the “confidential computing core” of the operating system, so images are never stored on the device or sent anywhere. Now the question arises, what is the core of Confidential Computing (APCC)?

In fact, the core of confidential computing is a feature and secure part of the operating system for executing algorithms that contain sensitive information. The official introduction of this bug by Google shows that the company is adding more features to Android due to privacy considerations. And here we see the same thing happening.

In another part of his speech, Burke mentioned that in addition to this process, Google has optimized the animations and their drawing and has added an ML-based command recognition algorithm to Android 12. He believes that these measures will eventually reduce the screen rotation by 25%.

The ability to rotate the screen on Android devices really has a lot of problems, and the various manufacturers of phones based on this operating system can not be very precise in this regard. Therefore, it should be hoped that this attention and new features of Google can increase its accuracy.

Changing the screen rotation is certainly an interesting and remarkable action, but probably what can make all Android users happier is the presence of a default screenshot feature in the operating system. This feature enables the user to scroll through only one image of the page, access other sections by scrolling, and capture images at the same time.

In addition to all these features, Android 12 also offers users the option of disabling the camera or microphone throughout the operating system. In the new beta, your business manager, or even the government, can control whether they are enabled or disabled, and can call when you are out of reach.

The next feature is the new device content search engine, which has access to both applications and data, and Google encourages developers to use it. Developers can submit a part of their application to be listed in this search engine or even make it available in other applications.

It was confirmed some time ago that Android 12 allows users to experience a game even before it finishes downloading. Apart from this, it is expected that there will be some small new features in the previous beta that have not yet been discovered. The third beta is available today for the same company’s Pixel series handsets and, of course, a small number of Oppo, Riley, Sharp, OnePlus and ‌ devices; Of course, Samsung is not present in the meantime and will not host this beta version of Android 12.

As with the final release of Android 12, the Pixel phones will be the first in a range of products to receive this beta, but it is possible that some other companies’ Android smartphones will be able to download the version sooner. Google is working hard to bring the Android update process closer to iOS, Apple’s other popular mobile operating system, but it still has a long way to go.
